Scouting America All-Boy Troop 482 (Temporarily suspended at this time-stay tuned!)

What is Scouting America?  The FYRE Foundation’s chartered Troop 482 (All Boy Troop) is what many think of as the “traditional Boy Scout Troop.”  It consists of only boys ages 10.5 to 17 years old.  In 2019, BSA reverted back to the original term “Scouts BSA Troops” from the 1960’s once it allowed for all-girl troops to form.  In 2024, Scouts BSA national leadership voted to rebrand again to “Scouting America.”

Troops have a long history in the USA going back to 1910.  Scouting is an American institution that prepares youth for adulthood and life.  Service, community engagement and leadership development become increasingly important parts of the program as youth lead their own activities and work their way toward earning Scouting America’s highest rank, Eagle Scout.  For more information go to https://www.scouting.org/programs/scouts-bsa/
