The American experiment in democracy has been, and remains, exceptional. Ours was the first constitutional republic in the world. Never has a country achieved so much prosperity, achievement, yet remained free and benevolent. Many have studied the American model worldwide. Ironically, it appears our younger students and future generations have only a meager understanding of their inalienable rights, the supreme laws of the land set forth in the constitution, and the dangers of complacency and apathy in democracy that could ultimately lead to loss of freedoms. FYRE encourages active citizenship through service to others.
