The FYRE Foundation hosted three evenings November 26th – December 10th 2022 in Riverview, FL. Agencies represented were the US Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Space Force, as well as the FBI, CIA, and State Department. Over 20 Senior officers and Civil Servants ranging from O-6 Colonels to 0-2 Lieutenants to GG-14s and gave brief overviews of their current positions, careers, multiple degrees, and key decisions they made in high school. The presenters were then available for follow-on one-on-one chats with students and parents. The events exposed students to a variety of career paths showing that there are multiple paths to achieve their goals. Likewise, it helped formulate decisions that students need to make today to get into the college or their choice to pursue the career that desire. A common theme was the need to have discipline and work ethic. You did not always have to be the top of your class as long as you were willing to put in the work and be well-rounded. They focused on being a leader in whatever they did in and outside of school such as sports, band, academics, extra curricular activities, student government, community service, and church.
